Admin/follow bar not showing | WordPress.org

I am wondering if it is possible to have the admin-bar show for non-admins so that they can follow my blog. This bar shows up for blogs hosted on wordpress.com and for blogs hosted by wordpress on other domains. Is it possible to have this wordpress.com functionality integrated with my locally hosted site?

I’m not aware of being able to mix them both up on your own installation, but you can come pretty close.

To enable the toolbar for non-logged in users, give this a look.

That code works when added to your theme’s functions.php file. It doesn’t show the follow button on the bar though.

For a Follow Me button similar to the WordPress.COM button, give this one a look.
