Admin setting is confusing

When I consult the Admin helppage at http://contactform7.com/admin-screen/
it is still not clear to me how to fill in the settings of the mail fields/

In the “From:” field it is now written [your-name] <[your-email]> Is this a tag referring to some standard settings? or should i replace it with for example
Option 1 [John Doe] <[john@gmail.com]>
or
Option2 John Doe <john@gmail.com>

Same for the Subject field where is written: [your-subject] Should i leave that or replace it with a subject text without [brackets] ?

@takayuki Miyoshi is the default setting for CF7 to put [your-email] as the default e-mail address in the From field?

This is a configuration that can cause undeliverable mail issues due to increased usage of SPF. Might be a good idea to consider updating this behaviour?

It was so prior to v4.0. Current versions use wordpress@{your-site-domain} as the default From field value.

Hello @takayukister @buzztone! I wanted to let you know that I figured out an RFC-compliant way to make this situation work. By using the owner’s address in the MAIL-FROM envelope, the visitor’s address is allowed to be in the From header. For clarity I also add a Sender header to the message, which is again the owner’s address.

It’s SMTP-plugin code and outside the scope of CF7. But I wanted to let you know what I found, and that I’ve incorporated it into Postman SMTP. Just an FYI 🙂

So, it will be the default configuration of Postman SMTP? That’s very nice. I’ll recommend your plugin in Contact Form 7’s FAQ.
