admin login retursn error 404

    When trying to login to my wordpress website, the admin page is missing. It returns a 404 error.

    I have not touched the site, nor has anyone else in a few weeks. Is there any explanation for this? Is my only option to re-install?

    Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

    Thanks! I ended up disabling the Better WP Security plugin by renaming the plugin with _. That allowed me to login to the dashboard. For some reason when I re-enabled that plugin everything worked fine.
