admin login

    Hi,

    For some reason I am not able to gain access to the admin site. I am the only one with a username/password and I keep getting an error message stating that I have to wait 30 minutes because I have attempted the maximum number of failed logins.

    But this cannot be the case because I only tried to login once yesterday, and I just tried this morning and I keep getting the error message, no matter how long I wait.

    Can someone please advise on how to resolve this issue?

    WordPress does not automatically block login attempts and force the user to wait 30 minutes.

    This sounds like you were using a plugin to block/limit spam login attempts.

    If this is the case; you are going to want to use FTP or your hosts cPanel to gain access to your file directories on your server.

    Once there; you will want to browse to the “wp-content/plugins” directory… and rename the plugin folder that is giving you trouble.
