Adding up custom field data, is it possible?

    Hi, I am using a custom field to display the number of photos my post is talking about, for example “Number of photos: 10”, or “Video time: 5 mins”.

    On my homepage, I want to display the total number of photos and videos in my site.

    For example if I have 10 posts, each having a custom field “number of photos: X value” I want to display on homepage “Total number of photos in my site is: X value”.

    Is there a bit of code I can add, which will tally up the data values for a specific custom field?

    I have searched the net, but cant find anything.

    Any advice will be great!
