    HI James

It is still not working at all. Can’t make any changes at all. Is there anything else I can do to get it working?
    Thanks

If you cannot add pages with all plugins deactivated, and the default theme in use, try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.

Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

    Hi there James
So I am checking the files and I see one wp-config.php and one wp-config.php~
Should I just delete wp-config.php and not the other?
    With thanks

No, wp-config.php is one of the things I specifically said that you should not delete.

Yes, I know. I was asking about wp-config.php~ with the ~
    It’s below wp-config.php

    Thanks

Hm, that’s not a standard file, so I suppose it could be deleted.

    Hi there James
I hope you are doing well. I’m sorry to ask, I just wanted to clarify that I should delete the files on my server, except the ones you mentioned. How about the files on the server that are on my server but not in the new workpress files, ie, there are files on my server that aren’t in the fresh download of wordpress.
Thanks again for all your help.

there are files on my server that aren’t in the fresh download of wordpress.

If they’re inside of the /wp-content/ directory, leave then there, that’s all part of the instructions to not delete that directory. 😉

If they’re outside of the /wp-content/ directory, what directory are you referring to?

    (@markstern)

    Thanks James
I have started simply from the /public/ files. This is the root folder of my site. I see all the files that are in the wordpress files, but there are others, like .htaccess, .maintenance, and also many other directories.
I guess these may have been used for a previous web site. I don’t know.
Should all the files that are for this new wordpress site only be within the files and folders of wordpress?
I hope I am clear on this and that you understand what I am trying to say.
    Thanks again!

Ah ok, only delete then replace your copies of every WordPress file on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download.

Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

    (@markstern)

ah, I understand. That’s what I was asking.
I should delete then replace as you instructed. The files that are unique on our servers I should leave.
    With thanks for the clarification.

    Thanks very much, James.
    It worked!

Just one other question, I have a page, http://aciontario.com/index.php/members/
How would I add another row or column??
    With thanks,
    Mark

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

A Columns Block should work for that: https://wordpress.org/support/article/columns-block/

    (@markstern)

    Thanks James
My page doesn’t have any blocks. On the right side of the page, it doesn’t say ‘document’ or ‘block.’
Mine has “Publish’ or “Page Attributes’.
    Am I missing something here?
