Adding thumbnails links to Pages on sidebar

I’m looking to place three or four custom sized (328×225) thumbnail links in my sidebar, with a small title overlay.

The trouble is they are for pages and not posts. I’m going for a sort of magazine/brochure type layout and I was hoping to be able to get it setup to be managed through widgets. I’ve spent hours trying various plugins but to little avail. The closest one I found was the Super Post & Page plugin:

… but there were a number of issues (‘Array’ displayed, thumbnails displayed vertically instead of horizontally [my sidebar is horizontal], no customisable thumbnail size, etc).

I’ll have to hard code the thumbnails if nobody can help! 🙁
