Adding static element to blog posts page?

Hi,

I’m developing a website under http://www.wisewonky.com/wordpress/

I’m happy with most of it but I want a text summary of my website on the home page, right beneath the header image. I want to do this so it only appears on my main page and not the comments section for example. How should I do this? Please help. Many regards,
