• Hi,

is it possible to somehow add additional rel tags to the ads? Like rel=”noopener” or rel=”noreferrer” when using target=”_blank”?

    Regards,

    Olivier.

  • Hi Olivier,

    Thanks for reaching out.

In the free version of Advanced Ads, you can find the checkbox Open links in a new window in Advanced Ads > Settings > General. If you enable it, the target="blank" is getting added to all programmatically created links.

If you activate the Tracking Ads add-on, you will find checkboxes in each particular ad unit to add the nofollow attribute as well as to add the target="blank". We will soon extend these options with another checkbox for the sponsored attribute.

Since WordPress 4.7.4, the noopener and noreferrer attributes are automatically added by the WordPress editor to all your links in your posts. The ads that are created with Advanced Ads have the same technical structure as posts. Advanced Ads suppresses the automatic insertion of those attributes in its ad types.

If you want to add these specific attributes, I recommend using the plain text and code or the rich content ad type and add them manually.

    Best regards,
    Joachim
