in free version, is it possible to create a new admin menu from an existing custom-field key, and submenus with the corresponding different custom-field values, targeting to a custom edit screen?

No, that’s not possible in any version of this plugin.

Also, what do you mean by “a custom edit screen”?

to me an “edit screen” is any listing of posts with columns (e.g. name, author, date, etc) 🙂

Hmm, I see. You would need another plugin to create a screen like that in any case, as AME only works with admin menu items. It doesn’t really have the ability to create custom admin screens or change the contents of existing screens (with a few exceptions).

yep, I was going to use another plugin for the admin screen, but I thought that AME would at least be able to create new menus that I would later link to the admin screens, since I noticed that it can create new menus but only link them to already exiting ones (basically creating a copy of them)

You can create menu items and link to them to arbitrary URLs with “Target page: < Custom >”. So can pretty much link to any screen that you can navigate to.
