Adding link (page) to images not working

Hello,

I am trying to make a front page (or any page) with images. I would like each of these images to link to a page that I have already made.
I set up the page in Elementor, add the images, choose “custom URL”, copy-paste the URL of the desired page, save. When trying the page, clicking on the image, the message is “oops, that page does not exist”
I have also tried making the custom URL a random website like http://www.google.com. It did not work either.
I have tried deactivating all of my plug-ins.
