Adding header image selection support to an older theme

    Hello,
    I’m having difficulty finding complete, reliable, instructions for adding custom header image selection to a 3year old theme.

    I’m working with Arthemia Free which came out before the capability of selecting a header image (from a set of about 4 possible images) was added to WordPress.

    I noticed a post on wpbeginner.com discussing this. Is that still the best recipe for doing it or is there a better way to add this support to an older theme?
