Adding gallery, "link to images" ko

Hi,

I’m quit new to WP, and I’m testing a lot of things in a personal project.
However, I’m turning around with galleries and lightboxes.
I tried many combinations of gallery plugin (or not) and lightbox effects (or not)

BUT

I found that adding a gallery tag [gallery link="file"]
DOES NOT create directly a link to full size images, but

• do exactly the same as [gallery]

: a link to an “image post” where there’s an image only in an intermediate size, wich there is clickable to be opened in real size (with or without lightbox effect)

Did I missed something ?
