Adding external products to cart

I have external products set up on my site. Currently if you click on the “Add to Cart” button, it will take you to the external link. This is what I would like it to do.

I would like to click on the “Add to Cart” button of the external product. I would like the product to be added to the page’s shopping cart. Then from the shopping cart, I would like there to be a button next to the product that takes you to the external link to buy the product.

Is this possible? Please help if you can.
