Adding contact form

I am trying to add a contact form to a page, but can’t seem to do it. I downloaded a plugin from the wordpress site to mine then activated it, clicked on the editor under plugins and copied the code that I see there into a page with the HTML view selected. Then I update it. But when I then view the page it is just code and not the actual contact form.

What might I be doing wrong?
