Adding a register here on page for contributors.

I am exploring some ideas for my blog and there is this one feature hangup that I am struggling with. I hope someone in this forum can point me in the right direction.
I would like to create a page called “your stories” a page where my readers can post their stories about various topics. The issue that I am faced with is having to go thru the admin side and manually adding people to be contributors. I am dealing with a older crowd.

Instead I would like to have on “your stories” page a register here or something to that effect, where they can register to be a contributor for my blog. Can this be possible?
