Adding a news page

Hi,

I am pretty new at word press and would like to do the following:

1. Add a news section that highlights 5 news posts but only a paragraph each.
2. If i click on a particular news article, i will be redirected to a new page which shows the full article.

As a reference please visit: dfra.com and scroll down to their news section.

I have read some of the posts regarding adding a new page and going to settings –> Reading and modifying the front page displays section but does not seem to work.

Please advice. Thanks in advance.
