Generally you would want to edit your theme to do what TwentyEleven and TwentyTen do – You can upload your own header image per site 🙂

Except the documentation on that is so sketchy (and over my head) at the moment.
Seriously, I already have the background & header image sorted. I’m 99% there. It’s only the extra “logo” bit that’s sticking me.
I even tried adding a nextgen gallery just to hold a single image! Yes, it worked, but the refresh on every page load spoils the experience.
So I’d like to re-state my question:
I have a logo div placeholder. How can I create a simple input field or some other method to allow users to fill in the src address for their own image???

It’s not exactly ‘simple’ and there in lies the problem. This is a theme question, however, and you’d be best off asking it in the Theme section (not my forte, alas, I can tweak ’em, but I’m not the uber best at writing them).

Not really, I use Genesis and DevPress themes, and I do that all the time with their themes. Which is why I know it’s a theme thing and less a Multisite 😀

I now have a shiny new “upload your logo” button in the wp appearance menu! Seems to work perfectly and does exactly what I was after.
