adding a link to an external url not working

    When on a page, I add text, highlight it, click the chain link to add the destination URL and it takes me to the list of blog posts…. not create a link to the url. Why

    I have a “Page” created and when I try to link some text to an external URL, it automatically loads the wordpress admin page with all posts.

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the 2010 theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    There might be something funky going with a plugin or your theme. The behaviour your describing is odd and shouldn’t be happening.
