Add user to user group

When install and activate bbp private groups plugin, together with bbpress plugin, in the website backend user edit page of any user, the click to add user to user group as above image shown is not working – there is no check mark displayed when click, nor will it show any unclick status. I wonder why this happen and how to resolve it?

My WordPress website is using version 7, with PHP version 8.4.4. The bbpress version is 2.6.14, while the bbP private groups version is 3.9.7. I also use bbp style pack of version 6.4.5. I use Astra Child Theme, with Astra version of 4.13.4.

Please kindly advise what I need to do or check to enable the user group click to work properly. Thanks!
