Add Todays Date in Cell

Displaying the current date in a table cell can be done by simply putting the formula =TEXT(TODAY(), "MMMM D, YYYY") in the table editor.

I recommend putting the parameter cache_table_output=false into the Shortcode or in the “Configuration Parameters” field in the “Advanced” Section in the block editor’s sidebar when selecting your TablePress table block, respectively. This prevents long delays due to the internal caching of TablePress—but you might check other page and proxy caching, too.

Allow me to present an alternative approach to automating date display. If you’d like to show the date on which the table was last modified adjacent to the table, insert a Paragraph block next to your table, paste the following line, and replace “4” with your table’s ID if necessary:

Last updated on [table-info id=4 field=last_modified format=date /].

By the way, that Shortcode [table-info id=4 field=last_modified format=date /] can also be placed in the table editor if you want to display the table’s “last modified” date inside one or multiple cells.
