Hi dysimpson,
Thanks for using our plugin, and for your great question.
Right now, the system is set up to open all Reader Extras links in new windows, because many users put external site links in these boxes.
But we will definitely consider adding an option into the Reader Extras section–such as a checkbox that allows users to choose whether the link opens in a new window or not–in one of our plugin updates!
In the meantime, there is a workaround that might help…
Rather than entering your links in the Reader Extras box of the plugin, you could add a heading below your book summary text, in the text box, and add your links there.
So, for example, if your title was Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, you’d have something like this on your page:
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Available now from Signet Classics
About the Book:
The young Alice follows a hasty hare underground-to come face-to-face with some of the strangest adventures in all of literature.
In this arresting parody of the fears, anxieties, and complexities of growing up, readers enter the world of make-believe, where the impossible becomes possible and the heights of adventure are unlimited.
Reader Extras:
Watch a Video
Read a Sample Chapter
Download the Discussion Guide
The pro to this is it gives you a quick workaround to the plugin default. The con is, your Reader Extras will go below your Book Summary.
Meanwhile, we’ll definitely keep this option in mind for a future rollout.
Let me know if I can offer any other tips. We’re here to help:)
Cheering you on,
Kelli
