Add-on domains

Hi,
I’m running wordfence on a hosting account with a main domain and several add on domains. Each has a separate wordpress instance, and I want to be able to use wordfence on some of them, and not on others.
The host is http://www.bestwebhosting.co.uk, and they instruct users wishing to use wordfence to enable the auto_prepend_file option within cpanel php options as follows:
However, this causes issues with other wordpress instances on our addon domains – for example I’m getting 403 errors in admin-ajax.php when trying to update my theme settings.
I’ve tried adding a .user.ini file including
auto_prepend_file = noneto no effect.
