Add Log In Above Header

I am very new to wordpress. I am setting up a website for my business. I want a way for users to log in to my site at the top right of my website, above the header. I would like to have Log in/log out and register links that would change depending on whether or not the user is logged in (display only Log Out when users are logged in) as well as display user name at top right when logged in if possible.

I have tried making a header menu and putting in links for this, but I can’t make it right align, and it’s not quite what I’m looking for.

I am using the Make by Theme Foundry theme on my website currently. My website is rpforward.com. I’m still working on getting most of my content up.

I’ve searched a bit on the forums as well as looked into plugins that might help me but I haven’t found what I’m looking for. Ultimately, I want a log in at top right of my page. I welcome any help and any suggestions of doing it a little differently if there is a better way. Thanks so much!
