Ad hidden if URL parameter set

    Hi there

    I am trying to troubleshoot some IAB 2.1a/5.2 error settings and have turned to your wonderful plugin to help resolve.

    I am trying to display Google Adsense ads only once consent has been given. I was following the instructions in the following link:

    I am using the CookieYes plugin and used the code ‘cookieyes-advertisement=yes’ in the list value. However, whenever I switch this on (with a tick) the ad is hidden and not displayed.

    This is probably something simple that I am doing wrong. An ad will display if I disable the list value on the url parameter. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

    It seems that you don’t have that plugin installed:
    cookieyes-advertisement=yes was tested with this plugin.

    Your consent plugin is a different one and uses different cookies – go to
    /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=cookielawinfo

    to see available cookies that are created (you can also check them in the browser).

    However, you need to first configure the consent plugin cookies for each category.
    Then use cookie condition according to your needs:
    For analytics scripts
    cookielawinfo-checkbox-analytics=yes

    For ads
    cookielawinfo-checkbox-advertisement=yes

    I gave consent and none of these cookies was set to yes (only cookielawinfo-checkbox-necessary).

    Hi @spacetime

    Many thanks for taking the time to reply.

    I did not realise it was not the official CookieYes plugin – I just searched the WordPress directory. Anyway, I’ve decided to use QC Choice instead.

    However, while this is now making the ad block visible, the actual ad is not being displayed. Would you mind checking if there anything wrong in the Ad Inserter settings, or is this a Google Adsense issue?

    It seems the block is properly inserted.
    Only Google does not serve ads (yet).

    Maybe you only need to wait for a while.
