Support » Plugin: JM Twitter Cards » Active Tab – LocalStorage issue

  • Resolved ravimallya

It is related to Settings active tab error (cause problem with other plugins) topic. We are also having the similar issue with the UX Builder of Flatsome theme. When we access the builder from the UX Builder tab as displayed in Editor screenshot, we notice a localStorage key ‘jm_activetab’ is being set. This localstorage value is causing the javascript error “Uncaught Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression:” which is shown in this screenshot that resulting into the UX Builder inaccessible. It also resulting in the other errors as well.

We are having the version 8.0 of this plugin. If we disable the plugin, everything works fine. I’m still unsure why the active tab localstorage value is being set for the tabs not related to the plugin.

    Please suggest.

  • We have the same problem on our website.
Our plugin has an admin page where we use the ‘nav-tab-wrapper’ class to create our own tabs. When clicking one of our own tabs, there is a JS error on each page. When clearing the ‘jm_activetab’ key from Local storage, the issue is temporarily fixed.

I think that it’s better to be more specific in your JS selectors to only trigger events on the JM Twitter Cards admin pages.

I have the exact same issue.

The selector $('.nav-tab-wrapper a') insettings.js is too broad. The plugin should only load the JS file on its admin pages. Or it should make the selector specific for the JM tabs.

It’s affecting to the functionality of WooCommerce settings such as Shipping, taxing where it uses ajax as the pages have tabs. Need to find a fix ASAP.
