Activated theme does not show on website

Hi,
I am just starting out to create my own online blog. I have found a nice theme and made basic changes to get started asap. After customizing the theme I activated it and it shows as ‘ACTIVE’ on the WordPress page (under themes). When I made the changes (and any consecutive changes) and clicked ‘publish’ it did/ does the changes and the theme shows on my webpage as it should. However, when I logout from WordPress the page shows as ‘coming soon’!
What do I need to do??? Your help is greatly appreciated.
