Since you’ve already tried most of the common fixes (cache, browser, plugins), this might be related to the specific block itself rather than your setup. A couple of things you could try:
• Try duplicating the page and see if the accordion block loads there
• If possible, remove that block (if you can access it via List View) and re-add a fresh one
• Check if it’s a block from a plugin/theme that might not be fully compatible or updated
• Also check by opening the browser console (F12 → Console tab) to see if any errors show up when that block tries to load
Quick check — is this a default block or coming from a specific plugin?
Hi there @kaz0o ,
That’s frustrating, especially after trying the usual solutions. A few questions can help narrow this down:
– Which accordion block are you using? Is it the core WordPress accordion (Details block), or one from a page builder/plugin e.g Kadence block?
– Does this issue occur only on this page, or have you tested creating a new accordion block on a different page?
Looking forward to helping you narrow this down quickly.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi @jamesgreat, thank you for your response.
I’m pretty new at WordPress and I wasn’t the one who made the site, so I may not be able to give the best answers! As far as I can tell, it’s just a basic WordPress accordion. When I select the box while it loads, the description on the side reads: “Accordion / An accordion block with an optional title at the top.”
There are multiple pages with accordion blocks, and this is the only one that isn’t loading. I think that this one is the largest on the whole site, though. Thank you for your help!

Hi @shubhamoydhar, thank you for replying to me.
I tried opening up the browser console, but I’m not really sure what to look for — nothing seems to be an obvious error, at least.
As far as I can tell, it is a default accordion block. Unfortunately, I didn’t make the website, and I’m quite new to this, so I’m not sure.
I copied the page to a new draft, and so far, it looks like it will also not load. I will give it a bit more time, just in case, but I think I might end up doing what you said and creating a new accordion block and copying the text over. I would prefer to see if there’s a fix for it otherwise, in case this happens again with the new block, but it sounds like a good idea. Thank you for your help!
Hi @kaz0o
No worries at all — you’ve actually already done a great job troubleshooting this, especially for someone new.
Since it’s happening even on a duplicated page, it does sound like that specific accordion block instance might be stuck or broken internally (it happens sometimes with block data).
A couple more things you could try before recreating it:
• Open List View, select the accordion block, and see if you can remove it from there (sometimes it won’t load visually but still exists in the structure)
• Try updating the page once (even without changes) and reload — occasionally it refreshes block data
If none of that works, recreating the block is honestly the safest fix — and the new one usually works fine.
[Also if you’re comfortable, you could also share a screenshot of the editor (especially the block area or List View). That might help spot if something looks off visually.]

Hi @shubhamoydhar,
Thank you for your detailed response.
When I open List View, the block is there (it’s the accordion block at the bottom). I can move it up and down and remove it.
On the page itself, there’s a space that is reserved for the block, but it just shows as a wheel that loads. I can’t seem to paste screenshots in this forum (it also seems to just load for a while, but won’t show up when I press post) — maybe there’s some broader issue with my computer?
On the front end of the website, it looks fine.
I deleted and re-made the block, which I was able to do, but now the new block has the same problem. I wonder if it is too big? There are 13 sections with only text included. I’m not sure if there’s a maximum number of entries for an accordion block before it freaks out. I will be suggesting that we re-make the block again with less entries to see if that fixes it, but need approval from my team first. I’ll update this thread if that works.
Otherwise, I have no idea what the problem is. Thank you for your help!
