• I’ve put off using the new PayPal plugin for years because I’ve read how bad it is, I’ve told customers to stay on the old plugin as that just seems to work, it’s not brilliant but it does the job.

I’ve now used the new PayPal plugin on a couple of sites and I have to say it is utter rubbish, clunky and buggy. It places unwanted PayPal buttons everywhere and where you want it to display the buttons they don’t display!!!

A complete shambles, how on earth did this get released and is still not working after all this time??

A terrible waste of time, now that you’re forced to use the new PayPal plugin – it’s time to switch to a different payment gateway.

    Hello @rolandxp30

Thank you for your honest feedback.

Regarding the behavior you described. When the plugin is first installed, multiple button locations are enabled by default. All button placements can be controlled in: WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → PayPal → Styling tab

From there, you can disable buttons in locations where you don’t want them (product, cart, mini cart) and enable only the specific placements you actually need. This part of the documentation covers this: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/plugin-settings-guide/#section-5

We’re always happy to help troubleshoot these cases, but we’d need to look at a specific setup to give accurate guidance. If you run into issues like this in the future, it’s worth reaching out via support: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce-paypal-payments/

We can help get things configured in a much cleaner and more predictable way.

    Kind Regards,
    Krystian
