Ability to Post to Sidebar and Main section (2 diff posts)

Hey all, so here’s what I’m looking to do. I want to have my page basically have two sections to it. The one larger “main” section would have some fairly static content (but needs to be editable) and then the “sidebar” would be where ‘posts’ would go.

Oh, and I’m using WP as a CMS if that makes it a little clearer. You can picture it as having a business type site. The main section contains basic info about the company and the sidebar would be where you can post articles/newsletters etc. Both need to be editable but separate.

Does this make sense? Is it possible?
