• Now that I’ve started paying more attention to the nightly download page, I’ve decided I won’t be updating the codex with a nightly changelog until the next nightly has been posted. They seem to be reposted several times a day – a guy could go absolutely crazy trying to keep up with them.

So, the Jan8 nightly changelog will not be updated (by me at least) until the Jan9 has become available. Jan9 won’t have a changelog list (from me, anyways) until Jan10 is available. Etcetera.

If someone else feels the need to update the codex (at http://codex.wordpress.org/Changelog/1.5 for now), feel free. Do everyone a favour and try to keep the format consistent though 😉 Ideally, there will only be one changelog posted per nightly, so if (for example), the Jan9 becomes available and you’ve downloaded the last Jan8 and the changelog for Jan8 is innaccurate, give it a quick edit, don’t add a new Jan8-to-Jan8 changelog 😉

But I should have time to do it every day, so there’s no pressure for anyone else to keep it up if they don’t want to 🙂

  • There’s a cronjob rolling the nightlies out everyday, so they need not always work perfectly, since they are just a snapshot — Just a mild warning to those updating to the latest nightly all the time.

yup 😉 mostly they work though. some of us just had the bad luck to snag a couple during the middle of a somewhat large change in the code (sort of, at least).
