Hello, I’m new to WordPress but it’s not the first system i installed on my own on my FTP server. i know i could just let WordPress host it for me and give me a nice sub-domain name but I’m more of an independent type of guy.

    My Problem:
I Installed a few Plug-Ins and it’s all great until it asks for my API Key. As a user who independently installed Word Press, I never got my Api Key.

I also have a user on http://www.wordpress.COM (I’m not sure I know what’s the difference, maybe you guys just give support and those guys are the main People)

so I have a User there and when it asked for my API Key when I installed the Akismet Plug-In I provided the one i got with that user on wordpress.com but i think it was wrong to do that since my domain is completely different then the one wordpress.com gave me.

i just wanted to see how it’s like, im not using their blog but i have used their API Key for my blog which i have hosted on my own on my own hosting account.

sorry for the long explanation, i hope it won’t discourage anyone froom reading it and helping me out, i just thought more information is better to describe my problem.

    Thank You!
