• Hello,

I can I add a 500px icon to the social icons in the Follow section of the theme?

    Anybody can help?

    Cheers,
    Tomasz

  • Yes, you can, it would really look great:
    – whole “sidebar-top group” (of left sidebar) is 340×60 px (with “FOLLOW” and 5 icons). And you want to add 500 px icon?!?!

But if you really want it badly, basic left sidebar PhP code is in sidebar.php and function alx_social_links() is in functions.php
So, add new CSS class and enjoy.

    Mike,

    that’s funny 🙂 !!!

What I meant is an icon of the 500px.com photography sharing site!
    Not a 500px wide icon.

    Sorry,
I thought you are asking a complete nonsense – haven’t noticed “.com” 🙂
I’ll find you a thread where I took part in explaining list of supported “fa-icons” and post it in a couple of minutes.
Not sure 500px.com is supported, but I’ll take a look.
Found it – regarding Scoop.it fa icons http://wordpress.org/support/topic/scoopit-icon-on-hueman-theme?replies=4 (read second post also)
As I see, on http://fortawesome.github.io/ there is no 500px.com support for now (I had similar problem with “fa-soundcloud” icon, but it appeared in the meantime).
Anyway, check again all mentioned links, obviously it’s time for me to change light (as I overlooked “.com”) or maybe go to sleep 🙂
    Regards,
    Mike

No problem. Actually I did not add .com in my first post 🙂

I had a look at fa-icons. I guess 500px is not there. Can I add my own icon up to the basic left side top group?

Typing in the same time 🙂
    – not sure, really never tried – since fa-icon support was all I need.
Probably you can, by editing alx_social_links() in functions.php and adding a new CSS class, but not sure what icon to use?

    Hey guys. I’m a designer at 500px.

Here’s a PSD that has our logo that is infinitely scalable, and you can change the colour to white if you’d like. If you don’t want the hassle of a PSD, visit 500px Press and you can download our logos in PNG 🙂

    Cheers,

    Jeff

    Thanks Jeff,
looks like a solution “out of clear blue sky” 🙂
Only problem I see that it still needs new CSS class mentioned above, since Hueman native supports fa-icons.

Yeah, unfortunately FA doesn’t have 500px icons. If you want, you might be able to disable FontAwesome and use Foundation Icons by Zurb, which comes with 500px icons.
