500 Internal Server Error – Woocommerce

    When I install and activate Woocommerce it produces a 500 internal server error. I have tried deactivating all other plugins and using the 2017 WordPress theme but it still gives the error.

    I have also tried uploading Woocommerce by FTP but doesn’t make a difference. The only way to handle the error is to delete woocommerce and then I have access to the site again.

    I also tried changing PHP to 7. WordPress install is the latest version.

    In the server log files it says:

    End of script output before headers: index.php

    Any ideas? I’ve never encountered this problem installing Woocommerce on other sites.
