  • “I have uploaded my website ” — is it a new installation?

    yes
    its new installation

Your blog is working fine now but there are many reasons for 500 error. Some of them are..

[1] Incorrect permissions set for the files/folders.
[2] Invalid line/code in .htaccess file.
[3] Configuration problem from server end. etc.

I am having the same issue, but I have blog that has been up for months. Since upgrading to 2.9.2 this morning, I can access the admin area and even preview posts, but all attempts to view the site result in:

    “500 – Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.”

I can, however, view pages if I add “/index.php/” before the permalink.

I’ve had my host look at it and even update the rewrite module, but to no avail. They say there’s no permissions issues.

Here’s what I’m running on: PHP 5.2 and MySQL 5.0, but we are not using apache to host blog, it’s running on IIS 7, with rewrite module.

Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

URL of the site and some of the pages that can be viewed…

I have clicked on Simple Scripts for support and has lead me to this support forum.

I have not been able to log in to the admin back-end yet.

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@heartatworkonline-org.sedonapies.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2.2.14 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8l DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at heartatworkonline-org.sedonapies.com Port 80

I have no idea how to change an error log.

I started deactivating plugins and the issue turned out to be the WP Super Cache plugin – once that was deactivated, the site worked again.

    I get the same message.

An error occurred when running this script

    * The script could not be run because of incorrect permissions.
    * The script consumed too many resources and was terminated.
    * The page that you have requested may no longer exist.

You can contact our webmaster or return to http://www.congareelt.org

This only happens when I try to access the admin URLs. http://www.congareelt.org/wp-admin/…etc. If I go to the site http://www.congareelt.org everything works fine…I see all my pages. I see where aerozap started removing plug-ins and it worked. I can’t login to the admin dashboard to do this. The only plug-ins I have in my plug-ins folder are akismet and hello (I think both are there by default). Any suggestions/ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Internal server errors are usually described in more detail in the server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for anything useful. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.
