I have configured the pages and plugin and am getting partial functionality. Usually after submitting a new registrant the page takes forever to load and gives a 500 internal error. Other times I get:
Fatal error: Unknown: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in Unknown on line 0

Later the page loads fine. I have a hunch that this plugin is conflicting with another membership plugin I am running, wp members. It seems like once I am auto logged out as an admin and log back in, things start working again.

I am wondering if this has come up before and if there is a simple work around. I need both membership tools and it has occured to me that I might have to place the participants plugin on a separate WordPress site.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

That could be a conflict, but not necessarily with your other membership plugin. Are you using some kind of caching or performance plugin? It could be that. Try disabling it on the page where you’re taking your registrations.

I do have wp supercache and I tried adding the page name in settings with no effect.
I have checked error logs at host… nothing…. permissions… nothing
Today if I am logged out as admin the page with the signup and list did load. If I enter required info in the signup and submit the 500 error is generated. If I am logged in as admin wp-users, the page will not load. Later when not logged in the page loads with the various parts of the page repeating down the page. Clearing cache manually, logging in and out does not clear the scrambled page. I have made minor edits to the page saved and the page still loads a mangled version. I have screenshots which show the issue.

The error log you need to look at is the php error log….the logs at your hosting are most likely Apache error logs. If you can get a look at your php error logs after seeing the 500, it would help us understand the problem.

Thanks so much for so promptly attempting to assist. I started over with a second fresh wordpress install and got the participants plugin configured and working perfectly. This does not rule out a user error but it seems more likely that there is a conflict with another plugin on my main site. Since the pledge drive we are building is relatively ephemeral I am probably going to keep it on the new second site and link to it. Thanks again.

I did go back and try installing in a new wordpress installation on a sub-domain. That also failed. That subdomain had very few plugins and no caching. I found the error logs and would be happy to email them to you if you are interested.

I’ll take a look at those logs…send them to support@xnau.com
