Sorry? What optin box? There’s no such box on WordPress by default.

I have a website which offers people a free product if they enter their name and email into the “optin box”, also referred to as a squeeze page. Once they have done this, a confirmation message is supposed to appear, the product is supposed to be delivered to their inbox and their email is supposed to be added to my list on mailchimp. None of this happened when i tested it with my name and one of my email addresses, just a message saying “404:page not found”

That’s not part of WordPress itself, so you must be using a plugin for this. Or it’s part of your theme. Do you know which?

I signed up with aweber, i posted a list name, then i entered the list name in the subscription settings box in my wordpress dashboard after choosing aweber from the drop-down box. I then went to my website and put in my name and my email in the squeeze page box but instead of getting a “thank you for signing up” message, it went to “mailing list not active” page even though on my aweber dashboard the list status is “active” ?

I have tried mailchimp and now aweber, both times there is an error when i try to subscribe myself to my list so i am thinking the problem lies somewhere in wordpress.
