I have a site http://teentec.net. I was trying to make a page about how to subscribe to our podcast on the site. However, every time I try to make the page, and then view it, I get this error:
    Not Found
The requested URL /about was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have tried all sorts of page slugs, but I don’t know what the problem is. Please help me adn if you have a sure solution, email me at jeffrey@teentec.net

I’ve seen it’s not. Since I suck at chmod, what should I do?

If you’re a Windows user, find your FTP application of choice here and follow the instructions to set your .htaccess file to 666. Then, set your permalinks again in Options/Permalinks.

If you’re a Mac user, please reply, and will write out the instructions for you using a Mac-friendly FTP client.

[[Nevermind, it looks like you took care of it.]]

    Aloha Macmanx,
I’m having trouble writing pages…. I get nothing but 404 errors, and here is the closest I’ve seen to a solution to my problem.
I have a Mac and use Fetch as my client.
I’ve edited my .htaccess file with the content given by WordPress to be able to handle the Permalinks, which it does just fine.
I’ve changed the chmod to 666.
I’m pulling out my hair…. I hope you can help!
(Or anyone else with a solution….)

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

OOPS, here is what I meant:

When I visit my Options>Permalinks Page or my Manage>Posts page, causes every page to come up with this.

So, I go to my ftp program and delete the htaccess file that has been created, this brings some pages back but I know that I need to be editing this file, I know that I need to change the Permissions to 666 as well. I want to know what I should put in this file so that I can view my site/dashboard. Can anybody help me?
