404 Errors When Updating Pages

    I am having a strange problem with WordPress when I update the post/page its causing a 404 for every page and post bar the home and front page.

    The WordPress site is in a sub sub directory and uses a custom permalink structure /%category%/%postname%/.

    I have noticed that when I revert the permalink setting to default and then back to the custom permalink structure it works again till I save a post or page.

    Note: I have also tried deactivating all the plugins which was just 1 plugin and it still occurs.

    Can you replicate the problem using the Twenty Eleven theme with all plugins deactivated?

    Thanks Esmi,

    It worked with the Twenty Eleven theme so I looked through my code and there was a mistake with the Rewrite for the Custom Post Type.
