404 error when uploading images

    I have tried several ways to upload images with no success.

    When I click upload media, and select media to upload I receive this error:
    IMG_0043.jpg
    HTTP error.

    The thumbnail does not upload either. Please help! been trying to figure this out and have tried multiple ways.

    Hi,

    Can you do a quick test of security configuration by setting the permission of /wp-content/uploads – and all subdirectories security to 777 via FileZilla?

    777 definitely is not a good idea, but with some web hosts, that’s all that will work. I would contact your web host to ask for support. If they can’t fix the issue, you may want to consider switching web hosts, but obviously that’s something you would have to evaluate and decide on yourself.
