404 error when trying to log in

    Hi there,

    I’m new to wordpress and am having trouble logging back into edit my site.

    I get a message that says:

    The requested URL /wp-login.php was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    I have only installed wordpress, got a theme, and written a couple of pages before I logged out. But now I cannot log back in.

    Any help would be much appreicated!!

    Hi dummy123,

    To clarify, are you able to see the log in screen at yourdomain.com/wp-admin? Do you receive the 404 error after trying to log in or when you try to navigate to the wp-admin area? Are you having any issue viewing your site itself?

    You may want to try manually disabling your theme by renaming the theme folder through either FTP or your web host’s file manager. If you’ve enabled any plugins, you can also manually disable those by renaming the plugins folder.
