3.7.1 does not install

    I want to update the wordpress site on my laptop (XAMPP) to the latest. So, I clicked on the [Update WordPress] button in the admin panel.
    What I get is this

    Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.7.1-no-content.zip…

Unpacking the update…

    And that’s it. It appears to stall in the “unbpacking”.

    However the “no-content” part of the download name is suspicious.
    Also browser tab is displaying “Waiting for localhost”.

    Does anyone know what is going on here?

    try manually re-uploading all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first!
    – Always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case.
