I had the exact same thing happen today. 4227 files changed. So pretty much everything. And the time modified is, like yours, all at different dates (most being the time the file was created). I don’t believe any correspond to the actual date of the warning.
Hmm interesting. Wondering if it has anything to do with Daylight Saving Time going into effect here in N America earlier this morning.
I had the same thing happen to me. It said that 2045 files had been modified, and dates ranged from beginning of website to now.
I have off and on had issues with email notifications.
Once in awhile back ups have stopped completely or I will get two of a back up .
I also was getting notified that certain picture files were getting modified everyday. I assumed it was the result of a plugin, but could never find the source. I ran several checks and am pretty sure I was not compromised.
Overall, it has been a good plugin, but I’m not sure if the email notifications are more harmful then good if they are sometimes wacky.
Anyone know what file hash means?
Well my hosting company did an extensive check of the site the plugin reported the 3512 files changed and found no problem at all.
The file hash is a calculation performed on each file when a new file is encountered. Then during subsequent scans the current hash of the file is compared to the hash on file when the file was first encountered during a scan. If the hashes do not match then the file has been changed or modified.
I again got notification of 1253 files modified and 84 files added. The strange thing is that when these reports are generated right after them another scan seems to have been performed, at least according to the Changed Files section of the plugin and in that report there was nothing being reported i.e. no modified, no changed, no deleted files.
