Hello! I’m having some difficulty finding a 3 column theme that is has different templates to select from, allowing me to have 2 columns on some pages and 3 on others and so on. This in and of itself isn’t too difficult to find, but I’m having trouble finding a theme like this where it is easy to modify the CSS. I thought I found a couple of themes that would work, one of them being “Clear Line” but I’m having difficulty finding all the styles so that I can change the entire look of it. There aren’t many styles in the main style sheet. I can’t find many of the styles that are already applied. This is true for a couple of other themes I tried too. I saw the css.php file, but I’m not understanding how I can completely change the look of these themes. I’ve done this successfully before with themes that don’t require up to 3 columns, but I’m having trouble with this. Can someone please help me either find an easy them to work with that will allow widgets or tell me how I can manipulate ALL the styles on a theme like this one? I would appreciate it very much.

  • Are the style.css files importing other css ?

It doesn’t appear to be, but the css.php file seems to have more styles, and it contains some php (obviously) so it’s very confusing not very straight forward for a html and css person to customize. It appears that most of the styles are in that file, but when I try to manipulate it, I think I’m having difficulty because it’s using php to manipulate the styles somehow. The developer of this theme as well as many others like this one, create a theme for the people that don’t know any coding to do some minor alterations to the look of the theme through the interface. But that requires using php with the css, making it more difficult for people like me to completely transform the theme…especially for the multiple column layout where I need the flexibility between pages. Maybe it’s possible I just need a little help. Thanks!

Well, the “Clear Line” theme seems to have the options I need. I think I found where the styles are at least, so I may be able to figure out how to work with them and just remove some of the php since I’m not using it. I don’t think I’ll give up on this yet. I would appreciate any suggestions and if anyone knows of a better theme to work with I am open. Thanks!

I think u make a good point. Every feature has a downside. Arguably if u are a hand edit type of person u dont need an option panel theme.
