• So I’m not techy, but we just upgraded our blog (travelingmamas.com) to 2.6.2 and the little tree icon thingy in Write Post mode is missing. Is this something that was intentionally left out? All the mamas on our blog are freaking out because this was our easy way up inserting images into posts. They are driving me nuts.

    Please help!

That method of image insertion was removed because it was confusing people to have two different methods for inserting images.

You can still insert images that way though, they’ve just all been integrated into the add media buttons on the top right of the write panel. Click that and you can upload media directly, or you can just fill in the blanks at the bottom to add media you’ve already uploaded via FTP or elsewhere.

    Thank you for that answer.

well, I wanted to post about missing that icon too but since the answer was given it doesn’t matter anymore
I just wanted to say I think it’s a really bad upgrade because the “add media” thing is much slower and for somebody who add a lot of images (icons linked to real size image in coppermine gallery) it’s not useful
I really regret now that I did update the WordPress to 2.6
