There’s a page template called showcase. Depending on your exact needs, this may do it for you.

any other suggestions?
I know of premium themes that have similar galleries on themeforest, but I doubt you are going to find a gallery with the niceties that on has for free.

There are a number of themes in the WordPress directory with grid-style galleries. Try searching on http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/tag-filter/ with the “photoblogging” checkbox checked.

ok, thanks Amy. I will check it out
there are a couple of themes that allow this. also free ones support this feature. the effect wont be the same but it will have similar appearence.
