• Hey, i have a running WP site since some years. I have new needs now, wich are :
making a copy ‘living’ of that site : the same site with just a different logo, a different contact adress, and a different URL. I could do that easily but i don’t want to update 2 sites…

In a perfect world the 2 sites would be updated in one time : when i update the first site i would need the second site to update as well. For exemple if i add a new post to site 1, it would appear to site 2.

Is that even possible ? Do i make any sense to you ?

  • Having the same contents on both sites will be treated as duplicate content by the search engines. You could easily do that using WP multisite option. When you’re trying to show contents you can show call posts from the same post table as the main site.

    Ok thanks.

But my current WP install is not multisite, i guess it’s not possible to convert to multisite install ? I would need to re-install the site from scratch ?

I guess i need to install a multi site version of WP and then import a backup of my actual WP site ‘in’ that ? that sounds scary to me, a lot of things can go wrong in that process…
