2 installations… one doesn't work (Javascript error)

I’ve installed two instances of wordpress in two different directories on our website. Site 1 (the original one) works fine. The other (Site 2, the second installed) works OK, but there’s a javascript error in the dashboard and other admin pages, which disables the WYSIWYG editor and other JS dependent controls.

Some other data points:

• Both sites running identical versions 3.2.1 (ended up creating identical directories, exact replica in copying site 1 to site 2 and just updating config file)
• both sites share same DB (and same access credentials), with different table prefix
• config file identical except for unique table prefix
• Error occurs in both IE and Firefox (see below)
• Site 2 had no plugins installed and used the default theme (less relevant no that I’ve created an exact copy of Site 1)
