1. Please install the health check plugin and report back its findings: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/
2. How are you hosting your site?
3. Use the health check plugin to disable all plugins and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then turn them back on one at a time until it comes back.
Do they think that all others are idiots?
Of course not!
Now they came up with new feature that prevents editing directly
The plan is to stop bad code being added to sites.
They should understand that lot of people use cloud-flare
Please consult them on this issue. They are not a part of wordpress.org
Who ever implemented this stupid idea in wordpress should be rewarded with millions of dollars
.org is for folks who want to take the time to host their own sites, and have the tools in place, review and update their knowledge @ The Codex to do so.
I am sorry about your experience, but please make the best of this by adding some information that helps others help you.
The detailed notes for WordPress 4.9 https://make.wordpress.org/core/2017/10/22/code-editing-improvements-in-wordpress-4-9/ explains why this was done, under the heading “Theme and Plugin File Editors”.
I believe I’ve seen a ticket somewhere that it should be possible to override (or make it possible to override) this feature.
I do hope that worpress.org presses on to insure that folks do not add bad code to sites.
Please understand that I am the one to decide what code I have to add to the server. @swansonphotos
They could have installed in this way. Instead they are asking to use FTP

Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, Do you want to still proceed or revert the changes?

Wait a minute, @sajith90
It seems as if this message actually gives you the option to continue, i.e. an override. So do you have a problem with WordPress just warning you that you may be about to shoot yourself in your foot, still giving you the option to proceed?
@Torn-Bjorn
Hello
Yes that is the logical thing to do. Here they think all of us are Idiots and do lot of things with that belief

Sajith
