I’m new to Sermon Manager and somewhat new to WP. I want to be able to have the various pages that display the sermons to look like the rest of my site. I currently only have two sermons loaded into Sermon Manager. Look at http://www.myvcfc.org/mysermons. Note the formatting of the page here. Here I am using the [sermons] shortcode to display the sermons. BTW, ignore everything on the page from the bold SPLIT down, just some more playing. When I click on the sermon title I am taken to a page http://www.myvcfc.org/sermons/how-did-i-end-up-here/. It displays things I don’t want such as the sidebar and doesn’t have any of the styling I used in the other pages. I just plain don’t care for this look. How can I get the results of clicking on the sermon title to look like my other pages?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi!

You can modify the output of single sermon page by doing the following steps:
    1. Go to Sermon Manager settings, and check “Enable Template Files” option
    2. Copy single-wpfc_sermon.php from /wp-content/plugins/sermon-manager-for-wordpress/views to /wp-content/themes/<your theme>
    3. Edit the newly-created file however you like (you will most likely want to copy most of the code from /wp-content/themes/<your theme>/single.php)

(by the way, you should download and install development version first, since there’s a small bug when saving settings)

Thanks for the reply. I will look into that and see what I can do.

May I offer a suggestion? I worked with another plugin sometime ago that gave you the option on the setup page to insert a page that you created for things like this. That made it incredibly easier for the end user to get to the end result they wanted. Food for thought.

One other question. Are there bugs in the use of the shortcode using the [sermon_sort_fields] option? I” have played with it and it seems buggy.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. We will have more visual approach for page editing in Sermon Manager Pro.

What do you mean by that [sermon_sort_fields] seems buggy?
